Wesley Ukulele Band Has Picnic and Practice

Around 20 members of the Wesley Ukulele Band attended their annual fun-filled and relaxing summer potluck and practice at the scenic Frank Bramhall Park in Willow Glen on 12 July.  The weather was perfect, a bit overcast but the group was shaded between two very large old oak trees. All were plied with good food provided by talented band members who can also cook.  They jammed and sang some favorite tunes and ate till they were well sated.  We thank Smiley and Janet Kai for always arriving very early in the morning to reserve our spot. It was a much looked forward to event and well attended.  Back Row (from left); Carol Ferro, Junko and Richard Urata, Tina Urata (band leader),  Cynthia Lorence, Toki Pagoulatos, Jonathan, Mariana Winoto,  Mark Teagle, Smiley Kai; middle row (from left); Earl Takenaka, Jane Wong, Becky Soffioto, Barbara Hiura, Greg Tanaka and front row (from left); Yuzuru and Natalie.
The afternoon highlight was hula dancing. Providing  grace to our serene time together, was Tina (above), and her granddaughter, Natalie (below), performing to a grateful group of strummers and singers.
