Congratulations to Jeffrey Bao

Congratulations to Jeffrey who placed second in Informative Speaking at the 2026 National Speech and Debate Association National Tournament.  This tournament took place in June in Richmond, Virginia and is one of the largest academic competitions in the world. 1,500 schools and 7,000 students from every state gathered to debate ideas, tell stories, and practice the essential skills of democracy—critical thinking, respectful disagreement, and confident communication.
Jeffrey's winning speech, "The Great American Bento Box," wove together food, culture, and community identity, with much of the piece centered on San Jose's own Japantown.  Please join us in celebrating Jeffrey's hard work, talent, and this incredible honor.
