Hunger: Ageless Weapon of Mass Destruction
Throughout history, war, famine, disease, natural disasters, and starvation have led to deaths of millions. For survivors, hunger meant life without peace, security, or hope.
Here's where you come in. Please consider walking in solidarity with your neighbors on Sunday, May 18 as Wesley joins Church World Service's Annual Bay Area CROP Walk to End Hunger.
Almaden Hills U.M.C. (yes, Mariellen's church) is again hosting The Walk to and around beautiful Almaden Lake). You can support CROP Walk as a walker (1-5 miles or any distance) or as a financial sponsor of any amount. Sign-ups begin April 27 and May 4, or ask a Mission Committee member for details (Doris, Ed G., Judy Y., Judie K., or John T.)
The Bible tells many stories of walking (out of Egypt with Moses, forty days in the wilderness by Jesus, and the entry into Jerusalem during Holy Week. Is your story being written? This is a wonderful family, classroom, or just a bunch of friends hanging together event.
25% of the proceeds help local outreach programs including Second Harvest Food Bank, Sacred Heart Community Services, and Martha's Kitchen
