2024 Nichigo Ministry

Nichigo Ministry Report 2024
Nichigo continued our ministry to Japanese speaking population in Bay Area.  This year, we were blessed with a return visit by Rev Hajime Yamamoto and his daughter, Sumire, in January, and the Nichigo worship service was attended by some 50 people, including many from other Bay Area churches.  A special lunch was held at the parsonage.

The major events this year include Noto Earthquake Relief (Jan 14-28) which raised a total of $4,291.75, and the Peaceful Forest Kato Taiko performance (May 11) with some 80 attendants from outside church.

The idea of Nichigo circuit pastor is evolving.  With help from Rev Oda, the AALM grant was finally approved, but with a difficulty in finding a qualified pastor and weakening of Nichigo congregation at all area churches, we are discussing ecumenical Nichigo ministry and are planning for a multi-church retreat in 2025.

Respectfully Submitted,
