2024 Hands of Grace
Hands of Grace 2024
After 10 years of participating in Aki Matsuri (2010 – 2019), Hands of Grace (HoG) opted out of this year’s festival. The committee is proud of the contribution – 20 to 25 percent of income earned at Aki Matsuri – our group has made over the years. Space and logistical restraints resulted in this difficult decision.
However, HoG is happy to hold its annual Christmas Boutique this year, November 2-3. This year’s boutique will add an extra day of sales for our Wesley family. HoG is a fellowship group of talented individuals who contribute their skills in creating unique, hand crafted Asian and Hawaiian themed items such as bags, towels, pillows, cards, bowl cozies, luggage tags, handbound notebooks, sashiko and shibori.
Hands of Grace is delighted to announce that the total proceeds from the Christmas Boutique this year will be granted to Umbrella Ministry.
Having been the co-leaders of this group for 15 years, Yumi Haraguchi and Mona Otomori are considering retirement and are currently exploring options for new leadership. Interested groups or individuals may contact us at any time.
With hands closed in grace, we express our love to God in prayer and conversation with Him. With our hands creating with grace, we place our love and care into the crafts which we make. And with hands opened in grace, we reach out to others in love, peace and kindness
Respectfully submitted,
Yumi Haraguchi and Mona Otomori,
Hands of Grace
