Umbrella Ministry Hosts Multigenerational Event

Our church's Umbrella Ministry continues to come up with interesting craft projects and ways to get our members involved and into relationship with one another, and the "End-of-Summer" Fellowship held on Aug. 25, was no different as the chairs Mary Sasaki and Lynn Tabuchi solicited the expertise of from left: Mika Visitacion, Kiyomi Yanai, Mari Fujii and Carl Miya to create Circuit Designs (electronic designs) to personalize all kinds of items like water bottles, and all kinds of plastic bags.
It was a smashing success bringing together the younger set like Kacie and Kenzie above, adults Carmen Cook and Judie Kanemoto below.
Look at what our seniors accomplished with Florence Oishi showing off her newly personalized water bottle and Rose Morita presenting her named cane. Very nifty indeed. Barbara Muford (right) won't lose her bottle or her newly named bag.
Lunch started off the fellowship time with Bev Acuna dishing up a delicious marinated pork saimin salad with eggs, kamaboko, zuccini, and green onions with edamame and apple pie bites for dessert.
Hatsumi Sato and Michiko Collins (see her personalized bag) and Kaori Okano ate every last bit of lunch. Tasty!
Also enjoying the repast and talking story were from left: Joanne Kumano, Jeanne Katsuro, Teri Koike, and Cynthia Fukuda.
Mari and Kiyomi utilize the computer to create the designs and an electronic fabricator makes the name tags. The event was a fun-tilled afternoon and brought joy and smiles because everyone got to take home an item that was unique, special and very personal. Who doesn't like to see their name in print? All were blessed.
