Junior High Camp and Asian Camp

by Lauren Takaichi
Hello Wesley community!
What a summer! We have just returned from Asian Camp and are catching up some much needed rest, but I wanted to share an update on both of the NJAUMC summer camps!
The Junior High Camp 2024 theme was “Trust.”, focusing on navigating our life journeys through the various ways we can trust. We started by developing our definitions of trust and what it means to trust in ourselves. We expanded outward, looking at how we can trust in our communities and how to be trustworthy to those in our lives. Finally, we looked at what it means to trust God and what it means to continue walking with God and growing in faith.
The Asian Camp 2024 theme was “YTF: Yesterday, Today, Forever”, focusing on the growth of our identities. We explored our past, taking inventory of the people and experiences that shaped us and how God worked in our lives leading up to the present moment. We took a look at the present, how the actions and decisions we make shape the here and now. Finally, we looked forward to our future with God. We talked about how God calls us forth to serve our churches and communities, and what God's plan may look like for each of us.
Youth participated in various activities and programming and made friendships with other youth, counselors, staff, and God. We hope you can join us on Sunday, August 4 for our Summer Camp Reflection Service!
