Thanksgiving S.O.S. Potluck Lunch
Everyone is welcome to our annual Thanksgiving Potluck luncheon on Sunday, November 22 from 11:30 to 1:00. Come celebrate the abundance of blessings God has faithfully provided us including health, family, friends, peace and security.
Share Our Substance program began in the 1970's as the United Methodist Women responded to the increasing tragic impact homelessness had on our neigshbors. From the early days of making weekly sandwiches for thirty or so folks in the park to enriching the lives of hundreds every week through food distribution, Grant Elementary, and many other programs made possible by your faithful giving and service.
Clarissa Johnston-Abril and Mark Teagle will present the Compassion Ministry's involvement in the community and how you can join this remarkable team. You will also hear how opportunities to alleviate hunger and sufferings are blessings we can respond.
Please bring a main dish, salad, or dessert if you are able. If you forget, don't worry, we've always had plenty of food. Missions will provide pumpkin pies. If you had a good harvest of persimmons, please bring some for our table decorations. Help Wesley "Go Green" by bringing your place settings.
Without suffering, there cannot be compassion.
"Come Ye Faithful Come". Thank You
