Asian Camp 2026—Connected by Love

Bright and early on Sunday June 28th, Wesley youth and families met at San Jose airport to began the trip down to Camp Wrightwood in Southern California for Asian Camp. This year Wesley had fifteen campers, four counselors and one adult chaperone going to Asian Camp. We arrived at camp around 2 pm, by bus with Blaine UMC. All were tired and some were nervous but all were excited to see old friends and make new ones. We had a couple of new campers this year, but the returning campers were quick to guide them and make them feel comfortable.  
This year’s theme was “Connected by Love”. The centering scripture for the week was 1 Corinthians 13:1-13. Each day a new scripture around love was presented and a pastor from participating churches shared a message around the theme and scripture. The week focused on the true meaning of love and it’s importance to connection, and how we are connected by God’s love.
It was a week filled with amazing connections. Old friends reunited like no time had passed, new friendships grew everyday—and throughout the week, everyone’s connection with God’s love and their faith grew stronger everyday. It was a week filled with love, joy, laughter and tears.
The last day, we all said our goodbyes and loaded the bus to the airport. As we flew back home, some of us feel asleep, tired from the late, last night at camp but all of us full of warm fuzzies. Connections made to last a lifetime. Until next summer…..
