Honoring Three Women: Midori Kai Trailblazers at Wesley Church

On May 2, Wesley Church was honored to host the Midori Kai Trailblazers Award event for the very first time. Founded in 1996, Midori Kai is a non-profit organization comprised of Japanese American professional women leaders committed to community involvement, mentoring young women, supporting local charities, and celebrating their Japanese American heritage.
The afternoon brought together warm conversation, a beautifully catered lunch, and a heartfelt spirit of remembrance as three pioneering women were honored: Yuri Kochiyama, Mitsuye Endo, and Aiko Herzig-Yoshinaga. These are women whose names deserve to be far better known. They are unsung heroes, women of courage whose years of dedication, advocacy, and trailblazing work shaped history in ways many people have never learned about.
Wesley Church was proud to host this meaningful gathering, and we look forward to welcoming Midori Kai back again.
