2025 Annual Report
Kelli Martines I Director of Administration
As each year passes, my gratitude grows for the privilege of spending my days at Wesley. I am incredibly blessed to work daily with such gifted and committed staff, who are ready and willing to do whatever is needed to keep our church office organized and ministries vibrant. Japantown organizations and events keep my weeks full of planning, always looking forward to the next gathering and celebration of community. It has been an honor to be involved with two major projects at Wesley; after nearly ten years of planning, we now have our Garden open to all and after we purchased the Mineta House last summer, we are nearly ready to open it as our newly remodeled Wesley parsonage.
These are some of the things that have kept 2025 busy and fulfilling for me:
Staff
  • Provide supervision and support to: 
    • Office Manager, Terri Thornton
      • Receipt of contributions
      • PowerChurch entries for individual contributions
      • Bank deposits
      • Annual Contribution Statements
      • PowerChurch to Subsplash conversion (in progress)
      • Calendar/facility requests
    • Administrative Assistant, Alan Ngai

Children & Youth Ministry
  • Lead team meetings 
  • Support events - Back to School BBQ, Kids Camp Scholarships 
  • Jr High/Asian Camp -Transportation, Scholarship Coordinator
  • Youth Bake Sale - Coordinator
Administration
  • HR/Payroll
  • New employee setup
  • Salary/benefits updates
  • Approve Gusto timesheets
  • Approve Gusto payroll reports
  • Manage Safe Gatherings trainings and approvals
  • Manage fingerprinting through Verify Group
Finance
  • Accounts Receivable/Payable
  • Subsplash Online Giving
  • Manage Divvy credit card assignments and budgets
  • Endowment
    • Receive/send statements and updates to Endowment Chair, Keith Nakashima and Finance Chair, Lori Tabuchi
  • Support Parable staff
  • Reimbursement/Check Requests
    • In-office requests; US Bank signer
  • Meet with Finance Chair, Lori Tabuchi and SPRC member, Kathy Haneta, as needed
  • Stewardship & Capital Campaigns
Ministry Support
  • BOT- meetings with Chair, Dave Brown 
  • Compassion 
    • St. James Park Ministry to the Un housed - weekly food distribution 
    • Grant Giving Tree - purchase all gifts, coordinate gift wrapping, prepare for distribution to families 
  • Primetimers - coordinate day trips, holiday party 
  • Missions 
    • Golf Tournament - create flyer, coordinate/manage registration, event signage, printouts for all players, golf cart foursome signage, day of event support 
  • United Women in Faith
Japantown Community Liaison
  • Nikkei Matsuri Foundation - Board President, 2025-current 
  • Nikkei Matsuri Festival Committee - 2023-current 
  • Japantown Sustainability Task Force 
  • Oak Hill Japanese Cemetery Trust Committee - 2020-current
Wesley Events
  • Camp Machi - Chair, 2023-present 
  • El Camino Real District Gathering & Celebration - coordinate/manage registration, event graphics, signage, day of event support/registration
