日語ミニストリー Nichigo Ministry 2025-08-21
この3年間、毎週土曜日にほぼ休みなく続けてきた早天祈祷会ですが、ここに至って少し息抜きをしよう、という事になりました。今いい気候だね、ハイキングに行こう！ と、満場一致で即座に決まり、日語の皆さんにも呼び掛けて、8月2日、いつものZoomではなくRancho San Antonioに集結。総勢10人で朝の日光浴と森林浴を大いに楽しんできました。参加者の年齢は20代から80代にわたり、まさにMulti-Generationの遠足です。
最初の話では4マイルの行程だったのですが、スマホで計測した参加者の話によると実際には5.7マイル。地球の温暖化で地面が膨らんだのかもしれません。でも丘の頂上からシリコンバレーを見渡す眺めと、行程後半の緑に包まれた渓谷に、参加者全員大いに癒されました。
ここでお報せですが、この2年間、私たちの礼拝やミニストリ―に休むことなく参加してきてくださった小川匠兄が、9月からサンディエゴに移られます。この6月にDe Anza Collegeを卒業し、UC San Diegoで勉学を続けるためです。専攻は Computer Science。私たちの群れから匠君が居なくなるのは寂しいのですが、これからも彼の未来を応援しましょう。

- 8月24日（日）の日語礼拝は、大森照輝先生がウェスレーでメッセージを届けてくださいます。先生は10月下旬にフランスに移られるので、この日がウェスレーでの最後のお説教となります。是非ご出席ください。• 次回の一麦会聖書研究は8月21日（木）午後7時半からです。詳しくはコリンズさんからの連絡をお待ちください。
- ベイエリアの日系教会の日語信徒合同ピクニック兼リトリートは10月18日（土）です。場所はシカモア教会のあるエル・セリトのArlington Park、ウェスレーからはバスをチャーターします。是非ご予定に加えておいてください。
For the past three years, we have held early morning prayer meetings every Saturday, but we decided it was time to take a little break. “The weather is nice now, let's go hiking!” Everyone agreed immediately, and we invited the rest of the Nichigo congregation to join us. On August 2, we gathered at Rancho San Antonio. A total of 10 people enjoyed the morning sunshine and forest bathing. Participants ranged in age from 20s to 80s, making it a true multi-generational outing.
Initially, it was said that the route was only 4 miles, but according to a participant who measured the distance with her smartphone, it was actually 5.7 miles. Perhaps the ground has expanded due to global warming. However, the view of Silicon Valley from the top of the hill and the lush valley in the latter half of the route were deeply soothing and refreshing.
I would like to take this opportunity to announce that Takumi Ogawa, who always has been participating in our worship services and ministry for the past two years, will be moving to San Diego in September. He graduated from De Anza College in June and will continue his studies at UCSD, majoring in Computer Science. We will miss Takumi, but let us continue to support his future endeavors.

The following is an announcement from the Nichigo Fellowship.
- On Sunday, August 24, Rev. Teruki Omori will deliver a message during Nichigo worship service in chapel. He will be moving to France in late October, so this will be his last sermon at Wesley. Please be sure to join us.
- The next Bay Area Nichigo Bible Study will be held on Thursday, August 21, at 7:30 p.m. Please contact Michiko Collins for details.
- The Bay Area Japanese Church Joint Retreat will be held on Saturday, October 18 in the Arlington Park in El Cerrito, where Sycamore Church is located. A bus will be chartered from Wesley. Please add this to your calendar.
