日語ミニストリー Nichigo Ministry 2025-06-26
夏の旅行シーズン、私も取り残されまいと、18日の水曜日まで8日間の日本訪問を果たしてきました。この旅の唯一の目的は、人と会うこと。仕事での知人や友人、小学校時代からの旧友たち、またウェスレーで知り合った人々等、毎日食事を共にして語り合う機会が与えられ、とても充実した旅となりました。
中でも、週末には伊丹で山本先生ご夫妻にお会いすることができました。先生は伊丹教会と付属の幼稚園の他にも日本基督教団神戸教会のお手伝いを引き受けることになり、相変わらず超多忙のご様子です。知恵さんはJR伊丹駅そばのPain Clinicにお勤めされており、充実した毎日ながらも、やはり時間に追われる日々だそうです。
東京では、重森泰三さん、石井洋介さんと虎ノ門で会食、また北村梓さんとは翌日品川で昼食をご一緒できました。昨今の社会情勢や技術動向、また子育て世代の実情やこれからのビジネスの課題など、夫々の専門分野のお話しで、話題は底をつきません。
更に帰途の羽田空港では、堀茂子さんとお嬢さんのご家族にお会いしました。堀さんはまだ御病気から全快されておられず、歩くのも注意深くですが、でもとてもお元気な様子でした。
会うは別れの始めとか。でも再会を約束してのお別れでした。何年たっても、私たちウェスレー教会を懐かしく思ってくださる方々が、こんなにも沢山居られることは大きな恵みであり、喜びです。また次回が楽しみです。 (塚本 旨)

It is a high time for travel, and I too made it to Japan this past week mainly because I did not want to be left behind. The sole purpose of this trip was to meet people, and it was very fulfilling as I had the opportunity to eat, drink and talk with many of my friends from work, schools, and also from Wesley.
Among them, I was able to meet Rev Hajime and Tomoe Yamamoto over the weekend in Itami city. Not surprisingly, Rev Hajime keeps himself busy not only as a senior pastor at the UCCJ Itami Church and as the managing director at its kindergarten, but also as a supporting pastor at the UCCJ Kobe Church. Tomoe works at a pain clinic and looks after church and family, and she too is having fulfilling but busy days.
In Tokyo, I had a dinner with Taizo Shigemori and Yosuke Ishii in Toranomon, and had a lunch with Azusa Kitamura in Shinagawa. We had a lot to talk about, including the current world affairs, the latest technology trends, daily joys and headaches of raising a 4 year old girl, and balancing of family life and work life.
On my way home at Haneda Airport, I ran into Shigeko Hori and her daughters’ family. Mrs. Hori is still recovering from illness and walks with great difficulty, but she was in excellent spirit.
It is said that meeting is the beginning of parting. But we part with the promise of meeting again. It is a great blessing and joy to know that even after so many years, there are still so many people who miss us at Wesley Church. It says something about Wesley Family, and there definitely will be the next time.
